No plot details have been divulged about the movie yet.
So it’s unknown who Edgar-Jones and Powell might play.
The original Twister starred Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt, making almost $500 million at the box office.
Set in Oklahoma, the film followed storm-chasers as they tracked down the biggest tornadoes they could find.
The cast also included Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jami Gertz, and Cary Elwes.
