Speaking withYahoo UK, executive producer Tomek Baginski opened up about the monumental change for The Witcher.
He mentioned they have “a very, very good plan to introduce our new Geralt.”
Baginski added that the switch will be “very lore accurate” to the novels.
The Witcher Season 3 trailer goes all-out for Cavill’s final outingas the White Wolf.
Earlier this year, it was reportedThe Witcher could have ended with Cavill’s departure.
But showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich said there were “just too many stories left to tell.”
The Witcher returns with Season 3, Part 1 on June 29.
The second part of the season will then drop on Netflix on July 27.
Along with Cavill, the show also stars Anya Chalotra as Yennefer and Freya Allan as Ciri.
