Some disappointing news right on the heels of The Batman’s release weekend.
The director shared the news on theHappy Sad Confusedpodcast.
“Because the movie is year two, and I wanted it to be the first appearance.
But it wasn’t going to be a Batman story, it was going about about this corrupt cop.
And it was going to be about how the worst gang in Gotham were the GCPD.
But it would be a battle for his soul.”
Reeves explained that although he was excited about the idea, HBO Max and Warner Bros. wanted something different.
The Batman opened on March 4,taking in $128 million in its first weekend.
This is the first proper theatrical release from Warner Bros. since 2020’s Tenet.
The Batman won’t be arriving on HBO Max for at least 45 days after its initial release.
