The highly-anticipated sequel to the 2019 film has apparently found its director.
Portlandia co-creator Jonathan Krisel is in negotiations to direct the Pokemon Detective Pikachu live-action sequel, according toDeadline.
The film grossed more than $430 million at the global box office.
Over almost 30 years, Pokemon has become one of the most successful franchises and properties in the world.
He also co-created and wrote/directed the FX series Baskets, starring Zach Galifianakis.
He’s also written for Saturday Night Live and every single Tim and Eric Awesome Show production.
This will be his first feature film.
