Netflix might soon join basically every other streaming provider in offering an ad-based option.

We’re trying to figure out over the next year or two.
But think of us as quite open to offering even lower prices with advertising as a consumer choice.”

Disney is doing it.
So I think we’ll really get in.
But again, it would be a plan layer, like it is at Hulu.
So if you still want the ad-free option, you’ll be able to have that as a consumer.
“Once you start offering a lower-priced plan with ads as an option, some consumers take it.
And we’ve got a big installed base that probably are quite happy where they are.
Beyond TV and film, Netflix is now buying video game studios to create games based on Netflix properties.
