Netflix has unveiled a teaser trailer for The Archies, an upcoming Indian musical movie inspired by Archie Comics.
The teaser debuted during Netflix’s TUDUM event and provides a glimpse into the highly anticipated musical.
According toVariety, the Archie comics are popular on the Indian subcontinent, leading to this adaptation.
The Archies is directed by Zoya Akhtar and co-written by Akhtar, Reema Kagti, and Ayesha DeVitre.
Akhtar previously directed the acclaimed musical film Gully Boy in 2019.
Akhtar said, “I am super excited to have the chance to bring The Archies to life.
It was a large part of my childhood and teenage years.
The characters are iconic and globally loved, which is also why I am a little nervous.
The cast includes Mihir Ahuja, Dot, Yuvraj Menda, and Vedang Raina.
The premiere date for The Archies on Netflix is yet to be announced.
