The Army button has a panel that lets you recruit more units.

Threats might await in nearby territories, and it’s up to you to meet them head-on.

These soldiers are actually part of the male population of your settlement.

Mercenary units

The mercenaries in Manor Lords cost Treasury to recruit.

This amount is paid upfront for each month of service.

Your retinue is armed to the teeth, but also very costly to fully upgrade.

Note that mercenary groups consist of two or more units that are predetermined.

It’s also worth noting that not all of them appear in your village immediately.

Mercenaries offer a full squad, but you need to pay them monthly.

Manor Lords is currently an early access game.

As such, some mechanics and features may change in due course.
