Michael Mann’s prequel-sequel novel to the 1995 classic for the big screen is further along than previously thought.
During an interview withMarc Maron on the WTF podcast, Mann said the sequel is already underway.
“Yes,” Maron responded when asked whether the film was in the works (viaThe Playlist).
The director’s most recent film is 2015’s Blackhat.
This year, he directed the first episode of the 2022 crime series Tokyo Vice for HBO Max.
Production has also recently started on Mann’s upcoming film Ferrari, starring Adam Driver and Penelope Cruz.
