After years and years of delays, the zombie game finally goes gold.
Instead, publisher Deep Silver has announced the action-RPG will launch one week earlier on April 21, 2023.
To reinforce this date,Deep Silver tweetedthat Dead Island 2 has gone gold as well.
So this rearrangement helps shorten that delay.
But since then, the game has seen multiple delays and even switched studio hands a few times.
Techland, who was behind the first game and the Dying Light series, isn’t making this sequel.
Spec Ops: The Line’s Yager Development was creating Dead Island 2 at one point.
But then Little Big Planet 3 maker Sumo Digital took over the project.
That team didn’t last in the end, either.
Dambuster Studios is now behind the zombie game, previously creating Homefront: The Revolution.
