Captain Price surprises General Shepherd in his own office.

Shepherd reminds Price that he doesn’t exactly have a clean conscience either.
Price then pulls out a pistol and aims it at Shepherd.
“Oh, I am not going to beg for my life,” Shepherd says to Price.
“Not from you or anybody else, Captain.”

Then he pulls the trigger as Shepherd’s body slumps onto his desk.
He is presumed to be dead.
There does not appear to be an end-credits cutscene in Modern Warfare III.
Shepherd was played by Glenn Morshower in the recent Call of Duty games.
