It’s destiny; every Baldur’s Gate game is certain to take the player to the titular city.
The city is seamlessly connected, meaning individual areas are not broken up by loading screens.
Crowds and NPCs wander the streets and will react to player behavior.
According to the developers, the city was not originally intended to be one massive area.
Changes in development meant that the team spent three or four times the amount of time it expected.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is currently in early access on Steam.
The full game will release on PC and PS5 on August 31.
AnXbox release is also in development.
