Producer Jon Landau backs up a plot point that director James Cameron alluded to recently for the faraway sequel.

The focus of the films so far is on Pandora and its rare resource unobtainium.

But the spotlight could shift to Earth eventually.

Speaking toGizmodo, Landau explained what we could see if Avatar 5 gets made.

“Well, it’s funny.

“In movie five there is a section of the story where we go to Earth.

Changing the setting is apparently related to Neytiri’s character arc, according to Landau.

“Just like you’re defined by the choices you make in life, not all humans are bad.

Not all Na’vi are good.

And that’s the case here on Earth,” he said.

“And we want to expose Neytiri to that.”

As a reminder, Neytiri is a princess and love interest of Jake Sully in the original Avatar.

She’s portrayed by Zoe Saldana and returns in The Way of Water.

This isn’t the first time Cameron and his team have opened up about Avatar 4 and 5.

For instance, the director recently said that an executive responded,“Holy f**k!”

after reading the script for the fourth film.

Audiences will get to decide for themselves as the sequel releases this Friday, December 16.
